Yes, I did tell the children to go fly a kite!

We read the book, The Wind Blew, and we have been talking about how the weather affects us. Everyone made a paper plate kite, but now I am going to put out materials for them to explore with.

Language Arts: The children have been writing "How to" books. They are doing a great job. All of them made a plan first after discussing it with friends and myself. They then created some really informative books.

Reading: has been one of the favorite parts of the day. The children are really proud of their ability to read. They are using all of their super powers to figure out what the words mean.

Math: You should have an end of the unit math assessment today. We have been practicing tricky teens, using ten frames, and working with simple addition and subtraction stories. I have also taught the children a new game called Sparkle. We choose a number (6) and we count on. Whenever a child gets a number ending in (6 or whatever the chosen number is) they say sparkle. The last child left gets given a silly chore. They are getting much better at changing decades and counting higher and they love the game.

***We are going to open a grocery store next week. Could you please send in clean empty containers? Nothing that contained peanut butter or nuts and no glass please.

Thanks so much!
